James Ghormley

Managing Director

James’ first introduction to China was moving into a Dongguan medical manufacturing facility where he lived in the on-site dormitories for his first year, becoming thoroughly acquainted with the culture and workings of Chinese factories. While working as a manufacturing engineer, James optimized production and business processes for companies such as GE, FitBit, and Covidien Medical eventually qualifying him for his Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certification from Purdue University. He then completed his Masters in product design from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Asia’s leading design program. James’ passion lies in the creation and execution of meaningful products that provide lasting value to their end users.

Ben Moore

Managing Director

Ben has lived full time in China since 2009. Before moving to China, Ben spent two years in Taiwan gaining fluency in Mandarin Chinese after which he then finished his studies at Brigham Young University, completing a BA in International Business. He later moved with his wife to Jinhua, China, where he spent a year working as a product manager for Rüesch Motor Company. Shortly after, he started work on a new manufacturing firm and, in 2011, moved to Guangdong where he currently resides. Ben maintains Acrivia's operations and often finds himself on the road traveling around to suppliers. His background in international manufacturing and supply chain management has proven to be one of Acrivia's great advantages.

John Wu

Manufacturing General Manager

John has led an illustrious career at nearby Foxconn for 16 years before working with Acrivia. While at Foxconn he managed such high-profile projects as Microsoft Xbox, various Hewlett Packard printers, Sony VAIO notebook, Sony PlayStation, and other notable products that represented massive volumes and robust designs. John's extensive network in Shenzhen from these projects has laid the foundation for much of Acrivia's supplier partnerships and continues to be a source of value when we require specific specialists on our projects. His background in manufacturing centers on plastics and metal manufacturing processes especially as it relates to injection molding and tool-fabrication.

Justin Taylor

Marketing Director

Justin brings a vast array of international business management and leadership skills to the Acrivia team. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science and Arts degree in Business Administration. He served a non paid, humanitarian mission in Japan for 2 years where he learned to speak fluent Japanese. He Received an Executive MBA from The Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona . He was Senior Vice President for KNX Holdings(NYSE:KNX). He served as President of Swift Transportation Refrigerated and most recently he Founded TMG holdings and served as President of Iron Maintenance. He is a husband and proud father of four kids.

Ricky Shen

R & D Manager

Ricky brings a great deal of engineering experience to Acrivia. He graduated from China’s oldest university, Hunan University (founded in 976 AD), in 1993 with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. He then worked in the automotive and electronic industries until 2005 when he was hired by Silicone Valley’s famed Acorn PD. Ricky worked as the senior product manager for high-profile projects such as the Keurig coffee maker, Amazon Kindle, and Cisco Nexus series. With over 25 years of product development experience for some of the world’s largest brands, Ricky manages Acrivia’s engineering team with the same rigor that created the innovative break-throughs of his previous projects.

Edward Hansen

Lead Design Engineer

Entrepreneur, project manager, and mechanical engineer with experience in medical device and consumer goods. Emphasis on business development, project management, new product development, manufacturing engineering, and quality control.

Rob Foulds

Lead Industrial Designer

BA-qualified Industrial Designer with a technical mindset. Comfortable in a workshop or behind a keyboard, 3D modeling, and producing digital & print graphics. I am interested in design for social change and circular design to minimise our environmental impact, fuelled by my interests in climbing, hiking and camping. When I can’t reach the mountains I’ll be bouldering, running or cycling.
